You've heard "Sally (When the Wine Runs Out)" but have you met the artist behind the viral track yet? Meet Role Model! The indie artist joined Ryan Seacrest in-studio fresh off his sold-out tour and opening for Gracie Abrams to share his journey from Maine to mainstream with over 139 million streams to date. Plus, who is Sally? We find out!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Role Model is here.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Role Model's got that big song everybody's talking about Sally
when the wine runs out.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
But his name is Tucker, Tucker Pillsbury.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
I like the name Tucker.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Tell us about that song and why do you think
it just sticks.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Out the second part of that question, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
You can't predict these things anymore. It was just like
I wrote four new songs for a deluxe version of
the album, right just with the hopes of like extending
people's interest in the album itself, and then that song
took off in a way that I was not expecting.
I like, don't have expectations like that.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Tucker, role Model Open for Racy Abrams Wrapped Up has
sold out headlining tour ending in Boston last month.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
From Maine, I'm from Maine.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Uh huh? And when did you start to write songs
and get into music?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Like, how did it begin for you? Was it always
having in your blood? No?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
And there was no music scene in Maine at the time.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Really bangor doesn't have a big bang scene. No.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I mean there's plenty of like ski lodges with like
sixty year old men and like big white beards playing banjos,
but like I was very passionate about film and wanted
to direct specifically like music videos. Went to school for
film in Pittsburgh, hated it and ended up kind of
finding a DIY version of making music that I did

(01:22):
not see before, like just kids on my dorm or
making music in their dorm. And I was like, let
me try that, fell in love with it and started
putting out music.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
I'd sell them out a tour and you know with
Gray Sabrams as well. All right, stick around for a
second and when I come back and play a clip
of your hit salad when the wine runs out on air.
